Guitar Amp is a tool meant for musicians who want to give their creations an original vibe. The amplifier simulator and multi-fx tool comes with 7 different amplifiers and more than 20 real-time effects. You get all these from the paid Guitar Amp edition. But we won’t focus on that edition. No, we will focus on the free edition, which comes with just two amplifiers and a handful of effects. Guitar Amp Free Edition is a good start for any musician who wants to get a taste of what this tool has to offer.

Should you decide to give Guitar Amp Free Edition a try, you must download a 12.8 archive onto your machine. Inside the archive you will find a PDF manual, a TXT Read Me file, and an executable that when run will launch Guitar Amp Free Edition.

The system requirements for running Guitar Amp Free Edition are quite low: 1.5GHz Pentium or AMD processor or better , 512MB of RAM memory or more, Windows operating system (32 or 64-bit edition; XP, Vista, or 7), ASIO board for standalone use, VST host for VST plug-in use, MIDI controller (recommended).

By default, Guitar Amp Free Edition uses a black color scheme for the interface. From the Setup menu, you can easily switch to another color scheme. Your choices are grey, white, red, blue and orange. Besides being customizable, this interface is quite easy to use – from the rack on the right you will be able to easily access the two amplifiers and the effects Guitar Amp Free Edition puts at your disposal. If you want more amplifiers and effects for guitar and bass, go get the paid Guitar Amp edition. As mentioned above, it comes with 7 different amplifiers and more than 20 real-time effects.

The watered-down Free Edition is a nice starting point. But if you want the whole experience, if you want a properly good virtual rack, go get the paid Guitar Amp edition.

Pros

The system requirements for running Guitar Amp Free Edition are very low. Downloading the application will take little time. There’s a handy Read Me TXT and a useful Manual PDF. You can easily change the interface’s color scheme. You will have no problems with the interface. This application is free.

Cons

This is a watered-down version of the paid Guitar Amp edition.
